Lady w/ Bird Figurine

This is a figurine most likely made by Mennecy and definitely in the 18th century in France. I have not found this exact piece but there are not many makers that made soft paste of good quality and the style of this piece leads me to Mennecy with little doubt if any. The figurine is made of softpaste porcelain and is of a lady with a bird in her hands in front of her. Not sure what kind of bird but probably something one could eat :) A very well modeled piece with her wearing a nice skirt and top with a hat on her head with a little ribbon tied to it. Nice base with a couple of flowers to it and a bit of scroll work. Left in the white which was more sought after back then and more expensive as well as the flaws could not be hidden by paint. The figure is in great condition with a little bit of damage - the beak of the bird is a little rough, a tiny chip to the underside of her hat, another small chip to the underside of the front bird wing and a partial firing crack to her waste which doesn't show when on display, a small crack to her index finger of the left hand and some small black firing impurities common to the early pieces. All in all about as nice as one could hope for. The piece is not marked though there is some sort of symbol to the underside which might just be there by change the way the paste was fired. The figurine is 4.625 inches tall, 1.75 inches wide and 1.75 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
