Pedestal

This is a fun little pedestal made by Mennecy in the 18th century. It is made of softpaste porcelain and thus has a creamy warm white color to the paste and the enamel colors look quite different from the usual hard paste one sees much more often. Much much nicer! The pedestal is hand painted nicely with a floral arrangement to all four sides - two different types - and a bit of puce trim to the edges. The piece is marked with the incised D.V. mark as shown. The piece is in superb condition with no issues at all except some stainign to the inside from when it was made which does not affect the piece at all. The stand is 2 inches tall and 2 inches square on the bottom. The top part where a figurine or miniature vase would sit is just over 1.25 inches on each side.
