Biscuit Miniature Urn

This is a miniature urn made of biscuit porcelain by Mennecy in the 18th century. I have not seen an unglazed piece like this by them before so it was a must have for me :) It is made of softpaste porcelain and thus quite a bit thicker than real porcelain would be. Still has that warm white color though which makes softpaste so popular. The urn and lid have a nice relief design all around and the handles are superb as well. The piece is in good condition but not without flaws. The foot was probably broken off from the main body and fixed back unless it is just a stained hairline that goes all around. Otherwise the main body is fine. The lid is sadly missing its finial and has a started chip that never quite came off. The foot is marked underneath with the incised DVA mark. The urn and lid are 4.25 inches tall, 3.25 inches wide and 2.125 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $349
