Superb Pitcher

This is a a small pitcher or pot or large creamer / milk jug made by Mennecy in the 18th century. It is one of the nicest I ahve seen from this maker. It is really nicely decorated with a hand painted large floral arrangements all around coming down from a puce and yellow scale trim along the top rim with 3D flowers to the terminal of the branch handle. Not sure if it ever had a lid - this size could have had one or could have been without one as well but I am leaning toward it having had one in this case. The enamel colors of the flowers are amazing and it makes soft paste so much nicer than hard paste porcelain. The piece is not marked underneath but definitely by Mennecy and a nice early example as well. The piece is 4.875 inches tall, 4.75 inches from handle to front and about 3.375 inches in diameter. The pitcher sadly has seen better days with three minor chips to the bottom edge, a larger chip to the top edge in the puce scale trim area and the handle has broken off taking a big V shaped chunk of the pitcher top with it. It was nicely reglued and displays nicely as is and is definitely worthy of a restoration job. From the outside the top right flower of the terminal was damaged but otherwise it's not obvious at all.
