Amazing Knife & Fork Set

This is a very rare knife and fork set with the handles made by Mennecy in the mid 18th century. The handles are made of a creamy colored softpaste with a hand painted colorful floral and scroll design to them. The blades are silver and probably among the fanciest I have ever come across. They each have a pierced pattern to them as shown. Really nice looking and from the period. They are in good condition with a short hairline to the ferrule end of the porcelain on the knife handle and two short ones on the fork handle as shown. There is also some wear to the design which is normal on softpaste porcelain like this. It is very hard to find a knife and fork set by this maker and this is an extra nice example! The porcelain is unmarked which is the norm. The knife is 9.25 inches long of which the visible porcelain handle is about 3.5 inches. The fork is 8.375 inches long with the visible porcelain part being 3.5 inches long. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
