Shell & Floral Tabatiere

This is a rare snuff box made by Mennecy in the mid 18th century. It is made of soft paste porcelain and thus has a creamy warm white color. The box has a superb relief design all around that is meant to look like a basket with a shell design to the center on the lid and on the underside. Lots of small hand painted flowers scattered throughout and nice sterling silver mounts. The mounts are marked as shown though it is tiny and I don't know much about silver marks. Really a superb piece! The porcelain is actually marked which is quite rare with their D.V. mark on the back piece of the main part near the silver mounts as shown. The piece is in superb condition with some really tiny munchers along the bottom edge. The piece is 1.375 inches tall, 2.625 inches wide and 2.125 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
