Small Vase

This is a fun litte urn / vase made by Mennecy in the 18th century. It is made of softpaste porcelain and thus has a creamy warm white color and the enamel colors look quite different from the usual hard paste one sees much more often. The vase is hand painted nicely with a floral arrangement as well as some scattered flowers and a reddish brown trim. This would go well with the pedestal I own. The piece is marked with the incised D.V mark as shown. The vase displays perfectly but has had two spots along the edge repaired. Looks like two chips as well as a hairline. Perfectly repaired. There is also a firing crack on the inside top which is fairly typical for them which was just painted in green a bit to cover it. The vase has sagged a bunch during firing which is evident in the pics. A charming and rare survivor nontheless! It is 2.725 inches tall and 2.375 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $499
