Worn Knife & Fork Set

This is a rare knife and fork set with the handles made by Mennecy in the mid 18th century. The handles are made of a creamy colored softpaste with a hand painted colorful Chinoiserie design to them. Sadly they are quite worn which happens easily with soft paste pieces that are used. Still a nice learning example or if you need period hardware for your existing handles. The blades are iron with a nice early version of the fork having jsut two tines. The ferrules are silver. The metal parts are in good condition with some expected oxidation. The knife is marked as shown. It is quite hard to find a knife and fork set by this maker all from the period. The porcelain is unmarked which is the norm. The knife is 11 inches long of which the visible porcelain handle is about 3.5 inches. The fork is 8.5 inches long with the visible porcelain part being 3.375 inches long.
