Walter Bosse Fawn Figurine #1

This is a cute porcelain figurine made by Metzler & Ortloff in the late 1920's. Metzler & Ortloff was founded originally around 1873 and finally closed its doors in 1976. This figurine was designed during their best period by the famous Walter Bosse who worked for them from 1926 until 1930. He made about 200 different figures though most are dogs or such things and very few are larger pieces. The piece here is a litte fawn / deer figure standing on a rectangular base with rounded corners with a flower with its leaves next to it. The piece is part of their place card holder series. A hard to find example. The fawn is super cute with orange heart shaped dots, nose and ears. The figure is modeled and hand painted in the typical fashion for this maker and designer. I have a few other examples if anyone would like to make a set. I have them all up on the site. These really are fun little pieces! The figurine is in perfect condition which always helps and is marked underneath with the green MO mark under a crown in a circle as well as an impressed number 5569 (I think) and Germany in black as shown. The figurine is 2.25 inches tall, 1.125 inches wide and 1.625 inches long. Please email me for more information or photos.
