Superb Nast Vase

This is a really nice vase made by Rue Popincourt aka Nast in the late 18th to early 19th century. They were one of the top Paris area makers of this period and many of their pieces were scenic in nature so this vase here is a bit different. Vases are quite hard to come by from this maker and this here is a really nice one. It is decorated with a salmon ground color with some fancy gilding to the inside rim, a four step base with gilding around it but the best part are the hand painted decoration on top of the salmon ground color. There are mdeallions of different musical instruments in the center with a black palm leaf type design surrounded by a raised enamel leaf garland in white. In between these design columns are simpler black columns with a fancier black and raised white design to the top and bottom. A really superb design on a nice sized vase. The vase is in great condition with a touch of gold wear mainly along the top edge. Nothing major and it displays perfectly. There is a star hairline or glaze line to the underside as shown. I cannot see it on the inside and it does not show up when shining a bright light through it so I am pretty sure it is just a glaze issue. The vase is marked underneath with a gold nast in script as shown. The piece is just under 7.5 inches tall and 6.375 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
