New Hall Cup #2

This is a New Hall porcelain teabowl and saucer pattern 449. Probably dating to around 1795, this set was made at the New Hall factory. It has 24 flutes in New Hall fashion, and is indicated as pattern 449 on the bottom. The New Hall pattern 449 is listed in the references as: “Border: Chains of pimpernels and leaves between large orange-brown blobs. Pink and mauve flowers are back to back in the center, within a magenta line frame.” Close enough. Both pieces are lightly shanked, with shallow scrolling curves surfacing on the overall shape. The saucer has a short hairline, otherwise both in great condition. This is a piece owned by a good friend of mine. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $145
