Large Gentleman Figurine

This is a large figur of a gentleman harvesting grapes made by Niderviller around 1800. The gentleman is dressed nicely, is wearing a hat, has a basket full of grapes on his back all while being next to a tree trunk on a nicely done base which is typical for this maker. The figurine is unusally large with some nice details and hand painted to perfection. There is the typical rock work as well as the gold trim on the base. The piece is extremely solid and heavy but unlike their smaller pieces this one has an airhole in the base. The figure is in great condition with chipping to the hat most of which wouldn't be seen if covered by black paint and chipping to the udnerside base likely from grinding it because the base wasn't quite even after firing. 99.9% of that cannot be seen when he stands on a flat surface. He displays superbly as none of these issues are distracting. Nice to have a pair of these as I also have the lady figurine! As is the case with most of their figurines he is unmarked. The figurine is 10.625 inches tall and the base has a diameter of 4.125 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
