Poulty Seller Faience Figurine

This is a rare faience / earthenware figurine made by Niderviller in the 18th century during the Count of Custine period (1770-1793). It is of a poultry seller - a lady is holding a bird in her left handwith a basket on that same side filled with plucked birds. She is nicely dressed and standing on a typical base for this maker! The piece is nicely modeled and hand painted superbly. It is rare that I find faience figures that are as good as porcelain pieces in terms of quality of the painting. A truly superb example! The figure displays nicely but has some issue though they are hard to spot. I do believe she was broken through the waiste which also means she is broken through with arms near the hands. The neck was broken and there used to be a handle on the basket that went over her arm. A couple of minor chips to the hat and a chip to the edge of the basket. Some issues but she really does display superbly and the breaks are very clean so it would be a breeze for a good restorer to hide these issues perfectly. The figurine is not marked which is normal but does have an old museum ID under it as shown. The figurine is 5.5 inches tall, 3.25 inches wide and 2.25 inches deep.
