Knitting Lady Figurine

This is a superb figurine of a lady knitting made by Niderviller around 1800. The lady is dressed in a very nice floral dress and she is wearing a bonnet type hat. She is knitting something I can't quite make out with a ball of yarn by her right side and a bag on her left arm. Oddly she has a basket with fish by her feet and I figured she was watching them for her husband and instead of being bored she decided to knit :) The figurine is very detailed and painted nicely. There is the typical rock work as well as the gold trim on the base. The piece is extremely solid and heavy being made of one solid piece of porcelain. The figure is in great condition with the knitting needles broken, the line from the ball of yarn to her hands missing and a teenie chip to her bonnet. None of these are obvious really and there is almost no way of them surviving being so thin and fragile! As is the case with most of their figurines it is unmarked underneath. The piece is 7.75 inches tall and 3.375 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
