Scenic Basket

This is a rare reticulated basket made by Niderviller in the 18th century. It is handpainted with two superb scenic medallions - on on either side and has a nice puce trim to the reticulation that makes it looks like a woven basket. Great colors and the scenes are top notch! The basket is marked with a CC under a crown mark one does not see too often on their goodies. The basket is 3.25 inches tall, 9.25 inches wide and 6 inches deep. It is in superb condition with two of the top arches having some work done on them though it is close to impossible to spot and I would guess it was small chips rather than anything major. Perfect work! There are some firing cracks from the making common on items like this and of little importance. The inside of the basket has some scattered flowers and leaves on the bottom. Price is $1999
