Scenic Cup & Saucer

This is a superb cup and saucer made by Niderviller in the 18th century during the Count Custine period. Both pieces are hand painted with a superb scene with lots of detail in their typical colors and a simple gold trim to the edges and the handle. Lots of tiny black birds painted on the saucer used mainly to hide little firing flaws. The set is marked with their interlaced CC mark under a crown as well as an incised mark as shown. The mark on the saucer is in over glaze black and on the cup in under glaze blue. The cup is 2.5 inches tall and 2.5 inches in diameter and the saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.25 inches in diameter. The saucer is in perfect condition and the cup has a bit of wear to the gilding and a scratch to the inside that looks a bit like a hairline but it is not!
