Scenic & Bugs Plate

This is a plate made by Niderviller around 1800. It is hand painted with a superb landscape scene in the center including two people, a tree and some buildings in a nice surrounding. It has a simple gold trim to edge that has some indents to it to make it a bit more elegant and three bugs on the rim that are just fun. The plate is marked with a bluish letter N. and an incised fancy letter S. It is 1.375 inches tall and 9.625 inches in diameter. The plate is in great condition with a little wear to the gold trim.
