Art Nouveau Plate #3

This is a superb plate made by Nymphenburg in the late 19th century. It is hand painted with a very stunning Art Nouveau design that reminds me of a Georgia O'Keeffe painting but this dates to right about when she was born. The center is white with a pink flower in it with two more flower buds coming along the sides. The rim is painted with a nice green color with streaks going in from the edge and three reticulated sections highlighted with gold trim with three smaller designs near the edge in gold and a gold trim to the edge. These pieces are not easy to find and I really enjoy them. I bought a set of four of them in different colors all from the original period with the 19th century blue shield and crown mark. The plate is 1.125 inches tall and 8.25 inches in diameter. It is in superb condition with just a touch of wear to the gilding. It is marked underneath with the blue shield mark under a crown as well as the word Nymphenburg under that used around 1894, some red numbers and letters along the edge of the underside and the impressed shield mark with the star above it used from 1890 until 1905.
