Biedermeier Scenic Pipe

This is a porcelain pipe bowl made by the Nymphenburg factory during the Biedermeier period in about 1820. A known shape by them which looks really nice. It is hand painted with a nice scene including a boat on a river with mountains to one side and a smaller boat by a building with trees on the other side. I am not familiar with this scene but maybe someone out there knows and a quick note would be appreciated! The scene has a thick simple gold trim around it. Metal fitting to the smaller end and a lid to the top opening. The metal parts are tarnished but looks to be made of silver or at least plated. It's a great looking pipe and the scene is of superb quality! The pipe is in superb condition. It has been smoked heavily and the residue is still inside. With a quick cleaning and polishing it would look like new again! It is unmarked which is normal for Nymphenburg pipes but this is a known shape by them and the qulity of the scene fits as well. The piece is about 3.625 inches tall, 2.5 inches deep and 1.375 inches wide. The top opening has a diameter of just under 1 inch on the inside. Please e-mail me for more information or photos.

Price is $499
