Wandering Hermit Figurine

This is a blanc de chine figurine of a monk / friar / wandering hermit made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century. He is traveling the road with a bag thrown over his shoulder and a cane in his left hand. Dressed with a long flowing robe, a hat and the cross or rosary is hanging of the side. Typical base with the addition of some greenery and a tree growing up the back side. It is a really nice figure that one does not find very often. The piece is in great condition with the leaves chipped that stick out the back on a short branch. A very common issue with this figure . A very early example of these redos after the 18th century originals! The figure is marked with their impressed shield mark on the underside plus the incised model number 58. The figure is 6.375 inches tall, 3.625 inches wide and 4.25 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $349
