City Scene & Blue Cup& Saucer

This is a superb scenic cup and saucer made by Nymphenburg in about 1830. The cup has a hand painted scene in the front of Egern am Tegernsee which is a small town just south of Munich. The church in the center still stands nowadays but the surrounding buildings have been modernized :) The quality of the scene is top notch - just superb and of a good size. It is surrounded by a gold frame with the rest of the main body having this really nice blue color - I think it is called King's blue. The foot is completely gilded as is the nicely shaped handle and the inside except for the very bottom. The saucer has the same blue with a simple gold ring around the edge. The scene is labelled underneath in black script Egern am Tegernsee as shown. The cup is 3.875 inches tall so of a rather nice size and 3.625 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.25 inches tall and has a diameter of 6.25 inches. Both are marked underneath with the impressed shield mark as well as some other imressed/incised marks as shown. The most interesting mark looks to be the name Lucius or soemthing along those lines. Can't recall having ever seen anything like it before. The set is in superb condition with some very minor wear. There is a missed glaze line under the saucer rim where the glaze didn't take and another spot under the center of the saucer where the glaze also missed. Some scratches to the saucer's blue area as shown but all in all as nice as one could ever hope for! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
