Emeran Lidl Fruit Plaque

This is a plaque made by Nymphenburg around 1900. These plaques are very rare and this one is signed by the painter - Emeran Lidl who painted some pieces for Nymphenburg and some from his decorating studio in Munich. And it is even dated 1901 which is always nice. One rarely knows the exact year a piece was painted or made in the world of porcelain. The plaque here is super nice. A still life of different fruit on a table with the blue sky behind it. It even has a single cloud in the sky! The fruit include a melon, grapes, apples, a plum, then there is a lonely raspberry as well as an artichoke. Very well painted and a super rare subject matter for a Nymphenburg piece. Signed in the bottom right hand corner as shown. The plque comes in a nice wood frame which looks to be original to it. The visible part of the plaque is 7.5 inches wide and 6.125 inches tall. The frame is 10.75 inches wide, 9.25 inches tall and 0.875 inches thick. The frame is not perfect by any means anymore but does the trick. I think the slight damage only adds to the charm of the piece. The plaque's visible field is perfect but the bottom edge has a large chip to it. The same band width along the bottom is not painted so it might have been originally damaged already. The frame obviously hides that part. A truly superb piece! The plaque is makred with their impressed shield mark with a star above it from the late 19th century. There are also some impressed other marks and some sort of signature though I cannot make that out. Please e-mail me for more information or photos.
