Milchmaedchen Figurine

This is a figurine of a lady in traditional dress made by Nymphenburg around 1880. She is called the Milchmaedchen in German which I assume translates to milk maid and is a model I have not seen before and had a tough time finding in my books, etc. She is very well modeled and hand painted with extreme attention to detail as all Nymphenburg pieces are. The lady is wearing a huge hat, dressed in a nice outfit and holding a book (presumably a bible) in her left hand as well as a necklace with a cross on it. She is marked with the impressed shield mark as well as an incised model number 208. I am unsure when this model was first designed but she is likely from the original period. The figure is 6.5 inches tall, 2.375 inches wide and 2.25 inches deep. She is in perfect condition. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
