Reticulated Pearl Service Scenic Plate

This is a reticulated plate made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century. It is one from the King's or Pearl service made for the electoral court around 1792-1795 designed originally by Dominikus Auliczek. The original set is still in the possession of the family and thus any pieces of this design are later copies. What makes this plate quite special compared to many others is the reticulated edge which is not easy to find at all. The plate is 12 sided and of the pearl design (refers to the little blue pearls on the rim). Hand painted with a scene in black in the center as well as a superb gold and blue trim. The plate is 1 inch tall and 9 inches in diameter. Marked with the green shield mark with the word Nymphenburg underneath, an impressed shield mark as well as the usual black numbers as shown. The word Baden-Burg is written on the back as well which refers to what the scene depicts on the front. It is the park pavillion on the grounds of Schloss Nymphenburg I believe. The plate is in good condition with some wear to the decoration mainly the gold trim around the edge of the well and the little pearlsalong the rim. It displays very nicely.
