Small Chamois Plaque

This is a small plaque made by Nymphenburg around 1850. It is handpainted with a scene of two Chamois on their patch of mountain with some clouds and more mountains in the background. It is superbly handpainted and quite rare. The plaque is in great condition with some nibbles on the top right hand corner that does not take away from the piece at all. It is marked in the back with the impressed shield mark from the time around 1850 most likely but might be a bit earlier as well. There is also an artist name written on the back but I am having a tough time figuring it out - possibly Gz Schleicher or Schleiche or Schleichs. The piece is 1.625 inches wide and 1.375 inches tall. Looks great the way it is or would look even better with a small frame or as a brooch. Please e-mail me for more information or photos.

Price is $499
