Blue, Gold & Polychrome Flowers Cup

This is a superb cup and saucer made by one of the better Paris region makers in the early 19th century. The cup has a top quality hand painted floral arrangement on white ground to the front that is framed by some nice raised gilding with the rest of the cup having a superb cobalt blue ground color with lots of superb raised gilding to it, Fully gilded handle and inside except for the very bottom. The saucer has the same deep blue ground color with that nice gilding to it and another polychrome floral scene to the center. A truly magnificent set! It is in perfect condition with just a touch of wear to the gilding to the very edge of the cup and to the trim around the well of the saucer. They display superbly! One small manufacturing flaw to the edge of the saucer gilded over so definitely from when it was made. Neither piece is marked except for two incised lines underneath the saucer and an incised script a under the cup but that is the norm for these pieces. The cup is 2.375 inches tall and 2.375 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 5 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
