Cobalt Blue & Nice Gilding Cup & Saucer

This is a superb Empire period cup and its saucer made by one of the better Paris region makers around 1800. Both pieces have that superb cobalt blue ground color with some really nice gilding to i plus the inside of the cup is gilded 3/4 of the way down with a design around the top rim. Nice handle shape that is fully gilded as well. The front of the cup has a shield stating Souvenir de Tauelie Borel - really hard to make out the last two words - fairly sure about the last one but the second to last one I can't make out at all. The set is in great condition - as good as one could hope for - with some minor age related marks. Mainly a tiny bit of wear to the gilding around the well of the saucer as shown. Neither piece is clearly marked though there is a blue mark to the underside foot of the cup as shown. Might be the fish mark for Perche who was a decorator in the Paris region from 1795 until 1825. The cup is 3.875 inches tall including the handle which sticks up about 0.75 inches above the rest of the cup and 3.25 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.25 inches in diameter.
