En Grisaille & Gilding Plate

This is a nice plate made by one of the Paris region makers in the late 18th century. It has a nice central design in gold surrounded by a black continuous scene including buildings and people in a landscape surrounding with more gold trim to the edge. The scene is painted en grissaille - all in black tones. The plate looks stunning. It is in good condition with some wear to the gilding as shown. It still displays nicely! The plate is unmarked underneath but has three stilt marks from the firing process. Unmarked pieces are really comon for this regiod of makers and time period. The plate is 1.125 inches tall and 8.75 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $229
