Three Footed Floral Cup & Saucer

This is a fun cup and saucer made by one of the better Paris makers during the Empire period of the early 19th century. It is one of the nicest examples I have seen of this style and is very decorative and elegant. The set is superbly decorated with a good quality hand painted floral scene to the front on the cup. The flower scene is framed by a gold trim with the rest of the cup having a superb cobalt blue ground color with some more nice gilding to it. Gold trim to the top, bottom, inside and handle. A ring of "pearls" to the bottom edge of the cup. The saucer has the same deep blue ground color with that nice gilding to it. My favorite part is the three claw feet it sits on as that always elevated the cup a bit and looks even nicer. This set is in perfect condition with some minor wear to the well of the saucer. It is unmarked except for two blue dots on the underside of the saucer but it is definitely from this ergion and this period. The cup is 3.125 inches tall (plus the handle which sticks out another 0.75 inches or so) and 3.5 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 5.25 inches in diameter.
