Lady Portrait Pipe

This is a porcelain pipe bowl made by Althaldensleben in Germany in the first half of the 19th century. The bowl is handpainted with a superb portrait of a lady wearing a beautiful necklace. The portrait is trimmed with gilding. The pipe is in good condition but sadly the bottom stem has damage - the end is broken off and a chip to the side of the stem. I have the pieces but one of them is stuck in the original horn stem :) Will try to remove it without damaging it any more. The pipe was smoked but I cleaned most of it out. It is marked on the inside with an underglaze blue line used by Althaldersleben around this time. It is 4.875 inches tall and 1.5 inches in diameter. Please e-mail me for more information or photos.
