Roman People Scene Cup & Saucer #1

This is a really fun cup and saucer made by one of the Paris or Limoges region makers in the 19th century. The cup is nicely hand painted with a scene that goes most of the way around that includes three people in Roman garb doing different things in a simple landscape. Some gold trim to the edges and handle. The saucer has three crossed torch designs along the rim with a leaf design in between them and some gold trim. A very nice set that is in good condition apart from a little bit of wear to the gilding and some manufacturing flaws typical of early porcelain. The cup is marked with a gild C with a dot to either side. Not sure if it truly is a maker's mark or just a gilder's mark. The cup is 2.5 inches tall and 2.25 inches in diameter. The saucer is 0.75 inches tall and 5.25 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
