Red & Gold Scenic Cup & Saucer

This is a cup and saucer made by one of the Paris makers around 1800. It is one of the better examples I have seen of this style and is very decorative and elegant. The set is superbly decorated with a handpainted scene of a landscape on the cup with a cow and a rodent in it as well as a river and house. It goes all around which is nice. The rest of the cup and the saucer is decorated with a red background with a gold decoration on top of leaves and other motifs. The scene is of a high quality as is the rest of the set. The inside cup is golded as well! This set is in perfect condition (with minimal wear of the gilding). The set is unmarked which is common for Paris makers around that time. The cup is 4.25 inches tall (including the handle) and 3 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.5 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
