Blue Ground Scenic Cup & Saucer

This is a superb cup and saucer made by one of the better Paris region makers around 1800. The cup has a top quality hand painted scene to the front of cattle / cows in a landscape surrounding. The scene is framed by some nice tooled gilding with the rest of the cup having a superb cobalt blue ground color with a nice gold floral design to it. Gold trim to the top, bottom, inside and handle. Nice handle shape in the form of a swan's head. The saucer has the same deep blue ground color with that nice gilding to it. The set is in perfect condition with the slightest amount of wear to the central ring of the saucer. Neither piece is marked except for an incised line underneath the saucer but that is the norm for these pieces. The cup is 3.875 inches tall including the handle which sticks up about 0.625 inches above the rest of the cup and 2.75 inches in diameter. The saucer is 0.875 inches tall and 5.125 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
