Shepherd w/Dog Scene Plate

This is a really nice plate made by one of the Paris makers around 1800. It is hand painted with a great quality scene in the center of a Shepherd with his dog in a landscape surrounding. The well of the plate has a gold ring around it and there is another gold trim to the edge. The rim has a nice looking puce / dark pink / light purple ground to it with three circular designs in gold over that and three more or less rectangular gilt cartouches with musicla instruments tooled into the gold. Just a superb plate! The plate is in great condition with just a very minimal amount of wear to the gilding along the very edge. Some firing spots, etc. on the underside from when it was made but that does not show when on display. As is the norm the piece is unmarked. The plate is 1.125 inches tall and 95 inches in diameter.
