All Around Scenic Cup on Feet & Saucer

This is a nice cup and saucer made by one of the better Paris makers during the Empire period of the early 19th century. It is one of the nicest examples I have seen of this style and is very decorative and elegant. The set is superbly decorated with a good quality hand painted scene that goes all around the cup and all around the rim of the saucer. Plenty of gold trim around the edges as well as to the center well of the saucer, handle and inside of the cup. My favorite part is the three claw feet the cup sits on as that always elevated the cup a bit and looks even nicer. This set displays nicely with a bit of gold wear and each of the feet has some damage that was repaired and gilded over. Not perfect but good enough to not be super obvious when on display. The superb large scene on the cup easily makes up for it. Could have been made by Dagoty or one of the top makers of this period. The two pieces are unmarked which is common to Paris area makers of this period but they are definitely from this region and this period. The cup is 4 inches tall and 3.5 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.375 inches tall and 6.75 inches in diameter. So a rather large set! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
