Amazing Blue Ground Scenic Cup & Saucer #1

This is a superb Empire period cup and its saucer made by one of the better Paris region makers around 1800. The cup has a top quality hand painted scene to the front of a building by a river including some small people, a bridge over a small waterfall and the usual landscape surrounding. The scene is framed by a gold trim with the rest of the cup having a superb cobalt blue ground color with some more nice gilding to it. Gold trim to the top, bottom, inside and handle. Nice handle shape with a lions head to the top inside part. The saucer has the same deep blue ground color with that nice gilding to it. The set is in perfect condition - as good as one could hope for! Neither piece is marked which is common on old Paris porcelain. The cup is 3.875 inches tall including the handle which sticks up about 0.75 inches above the rest of the cup and 2.75 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 5 inches in diameter.
