Tapestry Design Cup & Saucer

This is a cup and saucer made by one of the Paris area makers around the early 19th century. An interesting set that is hand painted with a neat tapestry type pattern and some gold trim. The inside sides of the cup are fully gilded as well. What makes it interesting is that the pattern has been painted onto the porcelain directly instead of on the glaze. That is not something you see often at all. You can feel the colors much more and it looks stunning as well. The set is in great condition with a bit of wear to the paint design right on the edge of the well from where the cup would have rubbed it and two or three small spots on the cup where the paint flaked off. The cup and saucer display perfectly! Neither piece is marked which is faily common to pieces from this region and period. The cup is 2.5 inches tall and 2.375 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 5.125 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
