Unglazed Paint Design Cup & Saucer

This is a really nice cup and saucer made by one of the Paris makers around 1800. Unusual in that the painted area are not glazed but directly applied to the porcelain. One finds this once in a blue moon on Paris pieces but not afte at all. Dagoty was one such maker that used this style often with the color blue. Both peices have a nice blue flower with red berries and green leaves design as well as two thin red trim lines and some gilding to them. The cup also has red blossom scattered around the lower part of it. All this on yellow ground. The yellow ground on the saucer is darker than on the cup but they definitely belong together. Probably just from dirt and use over all that time or a slight firing temperature difference. The set is in great condition with jsut a touch of wear. Neither piece is unmarked which is common for Paris makers around that time but definitely by one of the top makers! The cup is 2.875 inches tall without the handle and 3.125 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1 inches tall and 4.87 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
