Passau Figural Candlesticks

This is a rare pair of figural candlesticks made by Passau in the early 20th century. One does not see their pieces from this period very often and they did some really fun work during the Art Nouveau period as can be seen here. Quite similar to the work of the Schwarzburger Werkstaetten fuer Porzellankunst I think. Each candlestick is in the form of a blackamoor wearing wide flowy pants and a colorful top while acrrying a basket of fruit on top of their heads with the center having the hole to hold the candle! They are nicely modeled, superbly hand painted and of a ncie quality! Not so politically correct but they are from a different time. Both are marked with the double P and blue staff mark to the back and have the artist name impressed as shown - O. Kramer for Otto Kramer. He also worked for the Schwarzburg workshop so it explains the similarity in style. They are also marked with the model number P113, the number 9 and Germany in blue script as shown. Each piece is about 9 inches tall, 3.75 inches wide and 3 inches deep. They are perfect condition and look stunning! Please email me for more information or photos.
