Passau Laterna Magica

This is a figurine made by Passau in about 1910. They are actually called Dresser, Kister & Co. They aquired the Hoechst mold from the Mehlem factory in 1903 and marked the products with the old Hoechst marks. People often spend good money thinking they are truly 18th century Hoechst but one can tell them apart quite easily if original and copy are side by side. This figurine is of man with a laterna magica on his back and a walking stick in his right hand. A very well modelled and painted piece. The figure is 6 inches tall. It is in perfect condition. The figure is marked underneath with an underglaze blue wheel mark. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $749
