Pearlware Teapot

This is a Staffordshire Pearlware teapot with dedication and prayers. I'm sure the original owner, Mary Hill, treasured this teapot, which may have been given as a wedding present. With the occasional eccentric spelling, the verses run:

Be presant at our table Lord.

He here and everywhere ador'd

And grant that I one day may be

Plac'd in Paradice with the.

We thank the Lord for all that's good

And more because of Jesus blood.

Let manna to our souls be given

The bread of life sent down from Heaven.

This teapot is 6 inches tall and nine and a half inches long, and decorated very unostentatiously in red, green, blue, yellow and black. It would have been made in Staffordshire around 1790. There is an unrepaired chip at the edge of the spout and a one-inch repair to the edge of the lid. This is a piece owned by a good friend of mine. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1299
