Pfalz-Zweibrücken Teapot

This is a supremely rare Teapot made by Pfalz Zweibruecken of Germany in about 1770. Pfalz-Zweibrücken made porcelain only from 1767 to about 1775 and thus they did not make a lot of porcelain that could have survived until today. Only about 230 pieces are known to exist. It was founded by Dr. Stahl under the protection of Christian IV. Laurentius Russinger was the model maker in the first year or two and after he left Hoeckel became his successor. The teapot is nicely handpainted with two large floral arrangements, as well as some small flwoers, a nice puce trim and an apple finial. The pot is in superb condition with a missing piece on the lid leaf and or stem, a chipped tip of the spout and a crack along the bottom footring which does not affect the inside at all! A very nice piece from an extemely rare maker! I had it restored by the best of the best and it looks absolutely perfect now. Added pictures to show this! A once in a lifetime opportunity to learn and look at it. Marked underneath with the PZ mark as well as some incised marks and an S. The pot is 4.75 inches tall and about 4 inches in diameter.
