Ratkowo Saucer

This is a superb and very rare saucer made in Russia by Ratkowo in the 19th century. In my search for this maker I came up mostly empty except for finding out the factory was operated from 1845 until 1890 and owned by Wawili Sabanin. They seemed to have been well liked and made good quality pieces in the typical Russian taste as can be seen here. The piece has a nice blue ground color to it with a nice landscape scene in the center of the saucer surrounded by gilding from which flowers are coming out of. Some more gold corral like designs and a bit of a raised design to the porcelain itself. Gold trim to the edge. I could not find any other example by this maker so definitely not something you'll find again anytime soon. The saucer is in great condition with some wear to the gilding as shown. Some stray gilding to the underside and some brown firing spots the bigger being right at the edge. The dish is marked underneath with the red letter B.C. as shown. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 6 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $499
