Rauenstein Doll / Child Set for Six

This is a rare porcelain doll / child set of dishes made by Rauenstein in the mid 19th century. One rarely ever comes across their miniature pieces and to have a complte set is quite rare so I was thrilled to have found it. The pieces are hand painted with the famous under glaze blue strawflower design and the paste has the ribbed design to it quite typical for Thuringia area makers. Most pieces are marked underneath with the RN mark in script and with the creamer having a faint RN mark under the crossed flags. Some pieces are not marked at all but they all belong together! The set is in great condition with one cup having a stained hairline but no other real issues. Some of the usual manufacturing flaws like extra blobs of paste on the inside of the teapot, a glazed over firing crack in one of the cups and a stable crack to the bottom terminal of the handle on one cup. All in all in superb condition! The cups are 1.25 inches tall and 1.75 inches in diameter. The saucers are 0.75 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. The sugar dish and lid are 2 inches tall and 2.25 inches in diameter. The creamer is 1.5 inches tall and 1.875 inches in diameter. The teapot is 3 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter.
