Ridgway Scenic Serving Dish

This is a nice Bone China serving dish made in England by Job Ridgway of the Cauldon Place China Works in the early 19th century around 1810. A nicely shaped dish with a handle to each side with two relief sprigs coming off them. The center has a nicely hand painted scene to it including a gentleman near an old building with another person in the entrance way with a boat on a waterway nearby all in a landscape surrounding. The scene is surrounding by a gold sprig design with the rim having a mazarine blue ground color to it with some nice designs to it. The edge has a nice shape to it as well. A great looking dish that is in superb condition for its age! Just the tiniest of gold wear especially for English porcelain which wears quite easily. Some lighter areas to the blue ground but that is how it was made. One small firing crack near the one handle as shown from when it was made. As nice an example as they come! The piece is unmarked except for the pattern number 941 in red as well as a number 1 on the foot ring as shown. A truly great example by this maker! The plate is 11.5 inches wide, 8.75 inches deep and 1.875 inches tall. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
