Rosenthal Borzoi Dog Figurine

This is a rare porcelain figurine made by Rosenthal during WWI. It is of a Borzoi or Russian Wolfhound and it is very well modeled and handpainted. It was first designed in 1913. The figurine is in perfect condition but shows that Rosenthal was not perfect yet - it has a few manufacturing blemishes like black dots and a teeny firing crack. One small spot on his neck where the glaze chipped off not sure if original?! The piece is marked underneath with the green Rosenthal mark as shown in the pictures and the WWI mark of the iron cross. It also has the artist name written in light brown in the back: M. Valentin who is pretty famous! The figurine is 4.5 inches tall and 10.5 inches long.
