Rosenthal Lucifer Figurine

This is a really superb figurine made by Rosenthal during the mid 20th century - in 1957 if I read the date code correctly. It is one of those figures that just speaks to you - hard to describe but it is an amazingly modeled piece with lots of movement and detail. One of my all time favorite peices. The figure is of the angel Lucifer (Der Engel Luzifer ) first modeled by Waldemar Fritsch in 1951 which depicts the dancer Harald Kreutzberg in the dance "Night Song" dancing to the music of Johannes Brahms . Absolutely stunning piece and in perfect condition which never hurts :) Often the fingers have damage on these pieces so it's nice to find one without any issues! The piece has the modeleur's name W. Fritsch as well as the year 51 incised into the back of the base and the green Rosenthal mark underneath as well as the model number 1864 and another impressed number as shown. The entire base was covered with this felt stuff so I opened up the area of the mark only and left the rest. The figurine is 11.5 inches tall, 9.875 inches wide and 5.5 inches deep. Please email me for more information or photos.
