Copenhagen Royal Residence Scene Cup & Saucer #2

This is a rare and amazing scenic cup and saucer made by Royal Copenhagen in about 1830. The cup has a hand painted scene to the front of a part of Rosenborg which was once a royal residence in Denmark. Rosenborg Castle is a renaissance castle located in Copenhagen, Denmark. The castle was originally built as a country summerhouse in 1606 under Christian IV . It is very rare to find these early cup and saucer sets made by Copenhagen especially the ones with scenes. It's an impressive piece that was painted by their top artist Christian Klein . There is quite a bit of gilding to the rest of the cup covering the foot and the inside rim as well as some more to the handle and around the scene. The saucer has a thick gold trim to the rim and a gold ring running around the well with a gold circle in the centerl. The set is in great condition with some wear to the gilding as shown mainly to the saucer's edge and ring around the well and a touch around the edge of the foot of the cup. It displays perfectly and is a rare survivor! Both the cup and saucer are marked with their under glaze blue three waves mark with a dot next to it, the painter's initials in red and the name of the palace in black script as shown. The cup is 3 inches tall and 2.875 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.25 inches in diameter. This is an amazing cup and saucer!
