Joseph II Bust

This is a bust of Joseph II aka Joseph Benedict Anthony Michael Adam made by Royal Vienna in 1844. Part of a series of 200 famous people they made into these little figures around that time. He was born in 1741 and died in 1790. Holy Roman Emperor from 1765 and sole ruler of the famous Habsburg dynasty from 1780 until his death. Also happened to be one of the brothers of Marie Antoinette . The bust is nicely modeled in unglazed biscuit porcelain that sits on a glazed base with a bit of gold trim to it. His name is written in gold in the front. The figurine is in superb condition with a minor touch of wear to the gold trim along the bottom edge. The figure is 4.375 inches tall, 2.25 inches wide and 1.875 inches deep. It is marked underneath with the impressed beehive / shield mark, the year mark 844 as well as the impressed letter F as shown. Please email me for more information or photos.
