Superb Single Sorgenthal Saucer

This is probably the nicest saucer I have seen made by Royal Vienna in 1800 during the famous Sorgenthal period which was the best time for this maker. It is superbly hand painted with three small scenes including a semi nude lady with a cherub / putto on a brown ground, three small busts in grey and white tones also on brown ground with the rest of the piece having lots of fancy gilding much of it with lots of raised details! Some of it is on blue ground, the center on grey ground and there are leaf designs on green ground. The outside rim is fully gilded which one rarely ever sees. A very typical piece in terms of design for this period but as nice as they come! Really a very fancy but still elegant design! Wish I had a matching cup but maybe someone out there has one it fits well with. The saucer is in great condition with a tiny bit of wear to the gilding along the edge, a few minor scratches and a chip to the foot ring though some of that is glazed and thus more than likely from when it was made. It displays perfectly! The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.5 inches in diameter. It is marked with the underglaze blue shield mark as well as the typical impressed year mark (800 in this case). Sadly no painter's mark. Please email me for more information or photos.
